SUGANOB DROPS AND DOMINATES VICELLES TO WIN IBF JR FLYWEIGHT TITLE ELIMINATOR (FULL RESULTS / VIDEOS)

PhilBoxing.com

Suganob drops Vicelles.

TAGBILARAN CITY -- In a duel of undefeated Filipino rising contenders, Regie 'The Filipino Phenom' Suganob proved to be faster to the draw against Mark 'RastaMac' Vicelles to win in dominant fashion in their IBF title fight eliminator dubbed as Komong Bol-anon IX Saturday night at the Calape Cultural Center in Calape, Bohol.

Suganob of the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable beat Vicelles of Omega Boxing to the punch with his pinpoint sniping and precise counters to take control of the fight from the get go. Vicelles was frustrated as he could not find his target against a slippery opponent.

After an exchange of low-blows in the first two minutes of the 4th round that temporarily paused the action, Suganob connected with a jab and a right to the jaw that dropped Vicelles scoring the only knockdown of the fight.

Round 4 action video:

An accidental clash of heads in the 6th round inflected a cut above Vicelles right eye brow that eventually caused the stoppage of the fight in the 8th round. Vicelles threw caution to the wind in the 7th round and went an all-out attack against Suganob who calmly weathered the storm.

As Vicelles went back to his corner at the end of the 7th round, veteran referee Danrex Tapdasan had ringside physician Rene Bonsubre checked on Vicelles's cut which was aggravated later in the 8th round by being hit from Suganob's punches and with another clash of heads. Tapdasan sued for time to have the cut checked again by Bonsubre who ordered to stop the fight forcing the result of the fight to be decided by the scorecards up that point of the contest which was originally scheduled for 12 rounds.

Judges scores: Gil Co, 80-71; Adam Height, 78-73; and Greg Ortega, 77-74 all in favor of Suganob for an 8th round technical decision victory.

Suganob improved his record to 13-0 and now looks forward to challenge South African champion Sevi Nontshinga. Vicelles, meanwhile, suffered the first loss of his career and dropped to 19-1-1, 10KOs.

Round 8 video:

In the co-feature bout, Shane Gentallan, also of Bohol, captured the WBO Oriental Youth title by demolishing Faisol Akbar of Indonesia in the second round. Gentallan now has seven straight wins and gets his first championship belt.

Gentallan vs Akbar second round action:

Undercard results:

8 rounds Minimumweigt
Jake Amparo (12-4-1, 2KOs) Tagbilaran, Bohol vs Charlie Malupangue (9-8-4, 6KOs) Zamboanga City.
Jake Amparo, who was knocked down in the first round, came back strong to win by unanimous decision. All three judges Angelito Boaquin, Angelito Piquero and Stefren Puerta had identical scores of 77-74 in Amparo's favor.

Waminal (L) connects at Castino.

8 rounds Super Bantamweight
Jhunrille Castino (13-2-0, 2KOs) Guindulman, Bohol vs Jessrhey Waminal (15-8-1, 8KOs) Cebu City
Wamimal won by majority decision with scores of 77-75 from Angelito Boaquin and Stefren Puerta while Melchor Arong had it 76-76 even.

Lito Dante (L) and Mike Kinaadman duke it out.

8 rounds Jr Flyweight
Lito Dante (20-11-4, 12KOs) Sierra Bullones, Bohol vs Mike Kinaadman (8-19-2, 6KOs) Iligan City
A clash between two past their primes journeymen although Dante had a stellar record having won an OPBF title and the fringe WBF international title before this fight and also had strong performances on the road in Japan, Malaysia and South Africa. Dante was too strong for Kinaadman in this fight bulldozing the lanky Iligan City warrior throughout. Kinaadman called it a night after four rounds giving Dante a 5th round TKO victory.

8 rounds Flyweight
Angilou Dalogdog (6-0-0, 2KOs) Tagbilaran City, Bohol vs Anthony Gilbuela (5-3-2, 1KOs) Madridejos, Cebu
Dalogdog came out strong in the first round knocking down Gilbuella twice but failed to finish it in the first canto. Gilbuella made it a fight in the succeeding rounds but Dalogdog coasted along for a wide unanimous win with scores of 78-72, 78-72 and 79-71 from judges Melchor Arong, Angelito Boaquin and Stefren Puerta respectively.

8 rounds Super Flyweight
JayR Raquinel (14-2-1, 11KOs) Cauayan, Negros Occidental vs Arnold Garde (10-14-4, 2KOs) Davao City
Power punching JayR Raquinel made quick work of journeyman Arnold Garde dropping the Davaeno three times en route to a first round stoppage at 1:43 mark. Ranked No. 8 by the WBC and No. 9 by the WBO, the 25-year-old Raquinel looks to climbed up the ladder again in the rankings to position himself for a possible crack for a world title. Raquinel was fresh from an impressive 2nd round TKO victory over South African prospect Landi Ngxeke last October 23 in East London, South African for the WBO Inter-Continental superfly belt. The victory over Ngxeke was a great turnaround after a sorry loss to Giemel Magramo for the OPBF belt exactly a year before on Oct. 23, 2021.

6 rounds Flyweight
Pablito Balidio (7-3-3, 2KO) Danao City, Cebu vs Royder LLoyd Borbon (6-14-3, 6KOs) Sultan Kudarat
Balidio wins by 4th round TKO after Borbon refused answer the 4th round bell.

Tagacanao (R) and Saludar in action.

6 rounds Super Flyweight
Reymart Tagacanao (4-0-0, 4KOs) Carcar City, Cebu vs Isagani Saludar (3-3-0, 2KOs) Zamboanga City
Taganacao upped his perfect pro KO record to four after stopping Saludar at 1:45 in the first round.

6 rounds Bantamweight
Gerwin Asilo (4-0-0, 1KO) Tagbilaran City, Bohol vs Jeffrey Aguilar (2-1-0, 2KOs) Davao City
Asilo maintained his undefeated record with a unanimous decision win over Aguilar. Scores: 59-55, 59-55 and 58-56 in favor of Asilo.

6 rounds Super Bantamweight
Reycar Auxilio (4-2-0, 3KOs) Cebu vs Jay-Ar Aliasot (6-6-0, 5KOs) Ormoc City
Auxilio wins by 3rd round TKO after Aliasot failed to come out for 3rd round action.
