Brilliant Herlan Gomez Stops Thai Foe in 2 in Highland Show in Thailand

Gomez stops foe in Thailand.
BANGKOK, Thailand — In an exciting display of power and good boxing, promising Bacoleño bantamweight Herlan Gomez (6-1, 3 KO's), obliterated in 2 rounds Thailand's tough man Thanachai Khamoon for a thrilling stoppage win The Land of Smile: The Kingdom of Thailand.

From the get go, the Pinoy pursued and attacked Khamoon, exerting lethal pressure on him with controlled aggressiveness, tormenting him with accurate jabs, left hooks and a variety of damaging blows that quickly took a heavy toll on the brave Thai combatant.

Additional solid blows to the head and body dished out by Gomez further damaged and rocked the big heart Thai fighter till another potent attack sent him backwards against the ropes, dropping him to the canvas near a neutral corner.

Unsteady and really brave, Khamoon made it up on his feet, just to be ravaged again by the rampaging Pinoy typhoon. The Thai went down once again until veteran Thai referee Worawuth Duankhao halted all actions to spare the visibly hurt Thai from further damage. Official time of the stoppage was 1:45 in round two.

The Philippines GAB Chairman Atty Richard Clarin - the man at the helm of Filipino boxing - was in attendance at ringside supporting Herlan's laudable effort here in Thailand.

Atty. Clarin quickly climbed up to the ring to congratulate his victorious "kababayan" for the shinning, riveting win.

With his victory, the 23-year-old Herlan Gomez brilliantly bounces back into winning mode, looking forward to tougher challenges in the hot and competitive bantamweight division.

Herlan Gomez' fight in Thailand was a production of Award-winning Filipino promoter Brico Santig of Highland Boxing in association with Liu Gang's Maxpower, Thai man of boxing Supanat Chanram and Chinese Tony Chen, boss of Spaceplus Bangkok.

Co-main: China's 🇨🇳 LeQuan Wang Stops Reymond Yanong, Claims WBC Asia Continental Super Lightweight Title

Just like a fast & furious storm, unbeaten Middle Kingdom warrior LeQuan Wang (8-0, 5 KO's), brutally ravaged Filipino Reymond Yanong in two chapters of action to conquer the vacant WBC Asia Continental Super Lightweight Title.

After an uneventful first round, matters suddenly heated up to the maximum level when a destructive crushing attack lead by a vicious left hook rocked to the core the Pinoy fighter, badly hammering him down to the grey canvas from where he really couldn't get up, as the count of experienced WBC referee Dr. Thawuth Pluemsamran reached 10.

Dr. Thawuth then waive off the battle declaring LeQuan Wang's effective KO win at the 2:35 second mark in round 2.

The riveting victory is by far LeQuan Wang's most important win in his young pro boxing career, motivating the dangerous and disciplined Chinese to venture into tougher missions in 2023 and beyond.

The televised WBC Asia title fight was supervised by Royal Thai Army General Damrong Simakajornboon, watched in China on various platforms, including the Kuaishou App, Facebook, YouTube and Weibo.

The rumble was a production of China's top promoter and former Olympic Boxer Liu Gang, in association with Award-winning Filipino promoter Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotion and entrepreneur Tony Chen of Spaceplus Bangkok.

Women's Action in Super Fly: 🇹🇭 Phannaluk Wins Over Strong Saowaluk

In a hard-fought, close combat, woman boxer Phannaluk Kongsang (a.k.a. Petchchumpae) narrowly edged Thai compatriot Saowaluk Nareepangsri for a 6-round unanimous decision.

Identical scores were 58-56 (3x) in favor of the lanky 27-year-old Phannaluk, born in Khon Kaen in central northeastern Thailand, managed by long-time coach Supanat Chanram.

The Referee in change was international Filipino third man Gerald Bassig.

Phannaluk's win was one of the supporting bouts in Highland Boxing Promotions' exciting show produced in association with MaxPower and SpacePlus.

Supporting Welterweight Bout: China's Yong Outpoints Dawrani of Afghanistan

Strong 21-year-old Chinese Welterweight Yong Shuai Luan (4-2-1, 1 KO), promoted by Beijing's Maxpower, scored a close, but well-deserved win by points over Afghanistan fighter Ahmad Samir Dawrani (8-2-1, 5 KO's), in a non-title 6-round supporting bout.

Being the rumble so competitive, many fans would love to see a rematch.
