NBA Daily: Sabonis Dominates the Boards to Lead Kings Past Warriors

PhilBoxing.com

Hercules, California – Versatile big man Domantas Sabonis was ultra-efficient with a huge 20-20 double-double of 26 points and 22 rebounds to help the Sacramento Kings eke out a 122-115 victory over the defending champions Golden State Warriors on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

De’Aaron Fox stuffed the stats sheet with 22 markers, 4 boards, 8 dimes, 3 steals, and 1 block, while rookie forward Keegan Murray added 21 points on an 8-for-15 field goal shooting, including 5-for-9 from deep for the Kings, who improved to 6-6 on the win-loss column.

Kevin Huerter also made the big shots in the crucial stages of the game and finished with 17 that included 4 three-pointers.

Two-time league MVP Stephen Curry topscored for the Warriors with 27, while Andrew Wiggins added 26 across his name for the Warriors, who dropped to 5 wins and 8 losses.

The Sacramento Kings will next host the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors will try to bounce back, as they travel home to face the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time) on the second night of a back-to-back.

This writer, together with the father-and-son tandem of Vladimir and Jiro Geulen, joined a watch party at the Loberternos place in East Bay Area hosted by Warriors fans uncle Crossy, aunt Perry, and their two sons Elton and Joe, with Skipper on the sidelines. It was a blast.
