NBA Daily: Tatum Explodes for Season High 43 to Help Propel Celtics Past Pistons 117-108 By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Sun, 13 Nov 2022 San Francisco, California – The Boston Celtics are on a roll. Early MVP candidate Jason Tatum is largely responsible for it, having scored north of 30 points in all but one of his last 6 games, averaging just under 35 markers during the winning streak. Tonight’s game was his best, thus far this season, scoring a season high 43, including 28 in the first half to lead the Boston Celtics past the Detroit Pistons 117-108 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Tatum was efficient from the field, making 14-of-28, including 7-for-14 from deep, grabbed 10 boards and had 3 dimes, a steal, and an assist for Boston. Grant Williams added 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Marcus Smart was excellent both as a playmaker and a defender with 18 points, 2 rebounds, 10 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block for the Celtics, who improved to 10-3 on the win-loss column for solo second in the Eastern Conference team standings. Bojan Bogdanovic topscored for the Pistons with 28, while rookie Jaden Ivey added 26 for Detroit, who was without Cade Cunningham due to shin soreness. The Detroit Pistons, who dropped to 3 wins and 11 losses, will next host the Toronto Raptors on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time).
