NBA Daily: 2022-2023 Season Preview #18 – Chicago Bulls By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Mon, 03 Oct 2022 In this limited 30-part series, we shall be discussing each team’s latest developments, current roster, and future prospects in the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season. For every team, we will examine bit-by-bit the important aspects that may shape its progress and provide a rough projection of how it will fare vis-à-vis its previous year’s performance and versus the rest of the league. CHICAGO BULLS 2021-2022 Season Win-Loss Record: 46-36 Depth Chart: PG – Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, Goran Dragic SG – Zach Lavine, Alex Caruso, Carlik Jones SF – DeMar DeRozan, Derrick Jones Jr., Dalen Terry PF – Patrick Williams, Javonte Green, Marko Simonovic CE – Nikola Vucevic, Andre Drummond, Tony Bradley Injury Updates: Lonzo Ball is expected to miss at least a few months due to a knee injury that required a second procedure. Head Coach: Billy Donovan Headliners: DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine will remain to be the focal points of the Chicago Bulls offense going into the season. Both are multifaceted on the offensive end, but quite a bit wanting on defense. Lonzo Ball adds another dimension to this backcourt, allowing both ball-dominant players to play off-ball. Lonzo Ball’s health is still in question. Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, and Goran Dragic should step up at the point guard spot while Ball works on his recovery. Both Lavine and DeRozan can bring the ball up if need be, so point guard depth should not be an issue for the Bulls. Alex Caruso will probably play the sixth man’s role for Chicago. His defense and basketball IQ are a major plus to the Bulls shock troopers. The big man rotation of Nikola Vucevic, Patrick Williams, and Andre Drummond may be good defending the shaded lane, but being able to guard beyond that would still be a problem for Chicago. Chicago may still have the tools to make it to the playoffs. However, the question remains whether or not they have enough to make a deep playoff run. Comments are highly appreciated.
