REIGNING World Boxing Association Asia super featherweight king Charly “King's Warrior” Suarez of San Isidro, Davao del Norte is happy that he will fight current Philippine super featherweight champion Carlo “The Ferocious” Magali of Bohol for a unification fight on October 23 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
“I can say I'm happy because I was given the opportunity to fight Magali,” said the 34-year-old Suarez.
Suarez has already seen Magali fight in the YouTube channel.
“He is good,” said Suarez, who is still undefeated with 12 wins and seven knockouts
He had three fights already for this year.
Suarez first stopped Tomjune Mangubat of Bukidnon in the 12th round to win the vacant WBA Asia super featherweight title last March 12 at the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
He then beat Junny Salogaol of Cebu by a unanimous decision last June 10 at Barangay Manga Elementary School covered court in Tagbilaran City.
In his first title defense, Suarez outpointed Mark John Yap for a unanimous decision last August 7 at Elorde Sports Complex.
“I'm just right about my weight. About my sparring partner I don't know them,” said Suarez.
Suarez said that he had been sparring with different partners in Manila.
“It will be a good fight,” said Suarez.
Magali, on the other hand, is toting with 25 wins,13 loses, three draws and 13 knockouts.
The 35-year-old Magali has not fought since 2020 because of a pandemic.
