Kiram, Yoohanngoh, Kongsang Score KO Wins in Bangkok By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sun, 19 Dec 2021 Former world title challenger Tewa Kirma wins TKO over Patphong Khowiloed. Even without fans in attendance and with strict protocols in place, boxing continues at a steady pace in the Land of Smiles, Thailand; boxing-loving Thai fans optimistic about getting back to filling Thai fight venues in 2022, In today's action, former world title challenger Tewa Kiram (46-1, 33 KO's) - the very same fighter who three years ago waged a tough welterweight battle against power-house Lucas Matthysse - looked impressive and relentless in dealing with fellow Thai warrior Patphong Khowiloed, punishing, decking and stopping him for a chapter three TKO win in a non-title rumble today, Dec 18, at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Thailand's capital, Bangkok. Now as a super middleweight, the 29-year-old Tewa Kiram looks forward to more challenging battles in 2022. Kiram is managed by legendary Thai promoter Mr. Niwat Laosuwanwat, the man of boxing who served as the long-time manager and promoter for Khaosay Galaxy (47-1, 41 KO's), the Hall-of-Fame boxer considered by many fans as the greatest super flyweight in history, even above other thrilling names as "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (50-3, 41 KO's), Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (50-5-1, 43 KO's), Gilberto Román (56-6-1, 35 KO's), Johnny Tapia (59-5-2, 30 KO's), and Juan Francisco "El Gallo" Estrada (42-3, 28 KO's). Is Kahosay Galaxy really the greatest 115-pounder ever? Also in action in Bangkok was unbeaten 17-year-old super lightweight Phoobadin Yoohanngoh (12-0, 7 KO’s), whose fan-friendly, hard-swinging, coming-forward style saw him winning categorically over big-heart Pinoy fighter "The Pinoy Hearns" Sonny Katiandagho of Glan, Sarangani, whom Phoobadin overpowered with a massive attack to the mid-section in round three. Unbeaten Thai Muslim boxer Phoobadin Yoohanngoh retains his WBA Asian Championship belt with knockout victory today in Thailand. With the exciting win, the talented, promising young Thai Muslin Phoobadin Yoohanngoh retained WBA Asia Super Lightweight Strap. With his dad as his coach, and one of his brothers as a sparring partner, so far so good. At 17, is this heavy-punching kid Phoobadin a world champion in the making? Thai fighter Phannaluk Kongsang (2nd from right) scores round 3 TKO win in Bangkok. In women's action, 26-year-old Thai fighting lady Phannaluk Kongsang conquered the vacant WBC Asia Boxing Council Flyweight belt by defeating tough Loetizia Campana of Corse-du-Sud, France, for a round 3 TKO win. It was a clash in which the taller Kongsang bested the brave French warrior with superior boxing skills and speed. Tonight's card in Bangkok was part of the televised Thai boxing series "The Fighter," produced by TL Promotions in association with Highland Boxing Team and Galaxy Boxing. Photos Carlos Costa.
