The original opponent for Suarez was Lorence Rosas in a scheduled 10-round bout in the main event of “A Warrior’s Call: Fight for Supremacy” on April 24 at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan City.

But it was postponed on May 1 with the opponent replaced by Canada Jr. Canada had a difficult time right from the start as he strived to contend with Suarez's barrage of blows to the head and body.

In the third round a flurry of booming punches sent Canada sagging on his knees as he tried to cling to Suarez to keep his body from falling on the floor.

Suarez sustained his battering offense in the fourth round and a vicious combination caused Canada to give up 16 seconds left in the canto. Canada's career record plunged to 7-19-4, 1 KO.

In the undercard bouts, Richard Pumicpic (22-11-2, 7 KOs) knocked out Landy Cris Leon (13-22-5, 6 KOs) in the sixth round.

Victory 8 bouts generally involve shorter durations, usually 4 rounds. They intentionally shorten the rounds to maintain the entertainment factor, with the reality that tired and slow fights don’t interest the fans.

* * *

They are also concerned that more injuries occur in fatigued athletes. The shorter bouts also allow exposure for more boxers, and their aim is to make every boxing match entertaining.
