In a thrilling battle between two fantastic Japanese stars, multiple-division world champion Kazuto Ioka (26-2, 15 KO’s) brilliantly outclassed, dropped and stopped his aggressive and decorated compatriot Kosei Tanaka (15-1, 9 KO’s) in eight exciting chapters to successfully retain for the second time his WBO Super Flyweight World Title on New Year’s Eve in Tokyo Japan.
More technical and resourceful, Ioka brilliantly counterpunched the heavy-handed Tanaka with accuracy, dishing out fluid and creative attacks to the head and body, devastating the younger three-weight-class champion with picture-perfect left hooks to the chin that baffled and damaged Tanaka, crushing him.
Two times Kazuto Ioka rocked down Kosei Tanaka to the blue canvas, wonderfully ending him at the 1 minute 35 second mark in frame eight.
A rematch against Filipino four-division world champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes (42-1-5, 23 KO's) could be next?
