GEJON TRIES TO RESURRECT CAREER
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 13 Mar 2008

Former WBA title challenger Eriberto ?Yukka? Gejon tries to put his career back on track after a three defeats in his last five fights when he faces Japan?s Yuji Kanemitsu at the IMP Hall in Osaka on March 16.
Gejon who is managed by Rex ?Wakee? Salud has a record of 23-3-1 with 14 knockouts Kanemitsu is regarded as a tough opponent with a record of 10-1 ith 6 knockouts.
Salud?s involvement in Team Pacquiao has resulted in his fighters like Gejon apparently being neglected and as a result losing fights they would normally have been expected to win.
Gejon fought Japan?s world champion Yutaka Niida for the title twice and lost. The first fight was on September 25, 2005 when he lost by a tenth round technical decision and in a rematch on September 1, 2007 dropped a unanimous twelve round decision. In his last fight on November 3, 2007 Gejon who moved up to light flyweight was knocked out in the very first round by undefeated Roman Gonzalez in a mere 69 seconds..
Viva Sport/Manila Standard learned that Gejon, a lanky and talented minimum weight had requested to be allowed to train at the famous ALA Gym of boxing patron Tony Aldeguer. According to his son Michael Aldeguer who has assumed the mantle of his father, Tony Aldeguer agreed to allow Gejon to work out at the ALA Gym after a request was made by Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim on behalf of Salud.
