DOMINGO FACES TOUGH THAI ON APRIL 6
By Salven L. Lagumbay PhilBoxing.com Wed, 12 Mar 2008

RP bantamweight champion and World Cup fighter Michael Domingo faces a very tough test on April 6 when he takes on Thailand's Thepnimit Sor Chitpattana in a ten-round rumble at the Araneta Coliseum.
The bout will serve as an undercard to the WBO bantamweight title defense of Gerry Penalosa against Thailand's Ratanachai Sor Vorapin.
The Libac, Sultan Kudarat-raised Domingo, arguably the best performer in last year's World Cup in Sacramento, is a veteran of 50 fights, and has been on a winning spree since joining the famed ALA Boxing Gym in Cebu.
Chitpattana, 18-2, 7 KO's, has been unbeaten in his last 15 fights, and is the reigning WBC Asian Boxing Council bantamweight champion.
At last year's World Cup, won by the Philippines over Mexico 5-1, Domingo, a heavy underdog, went on to systematically outpoint the erstwhile undefeated Miguel Roman via a one-sided unanimous decision. The loss virtually finished off Roman's career, as he lost once again four months later.
The RP bantam champ is currently training at the well-equipped ALA Gym under trainer Edito Villamor, alongside Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista and AJ 'Bazooka' Banal.
