'How can Marquez win against Pacquiao when he will fall?' By Alex P. Vidal PhilBoxing.com Tue, 11 Mar 2008 LOS ANGELES -- The partisan Mexican crowd at Olvera Street in the press conference of the "Unfinished Business" fight between World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez and challenger Manny Pacquiao booed Top Rank big boss Bob Arum when he announced last this morning (March 10, L.A. time) that Pacquiao "is now stronger than ever" and that "nobody can stop him from winning" in his rematch against "the last Mexican standing" on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. "How can Marquez win against Pacquiao when he will fall?" the 76-year-old veteran promoter told journalists while Marquez and Pacquiao were being presented to the mostly Mexican crowd during the press conference. Pacquiao spoke well about Marquez and praised the Mexican champion for being "one of the best fighters in the world." Six world class fighters in three compelling fights, highlight the televised portion of the highly anticipated pay-per-view card headlined by the Marquez-Pacquiao rematch, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, in association with Romanza Boxing Productions and MP Promotions. World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight champion Steven Luevano (34-1, 15 KOs), from La Puente, California, will be making the second defense of his championship since winning it last July by knocking out the previously undefeated Nicky Cook (27-0, 15 KOs), in the 11th round of their fight in London. North American Boxing Organization (NABO) featherweight champion Abner Mares (15-0, 9 KOs), will be risking his undefeated record and No. 3 world rating when he defends his title against top 10 contender and former world title challenger Diosdado Gabi (30-3-1, 22 KOs).
