NBA Daily: Hornets Ride 20-0 Opening Run to Upset Rockets 108-99

PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – James Harden had a rare quadruple-double. Only that the fourth stat in double figures was his 10 turnovers, as his team the Houston Rockets bowed to the Charlotte Hornets 108-99 on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Philippine time) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The former league MVP finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists for his 4th triple-double performance of the season and 46th for his career. He was also 2-for-11 from beyond the arc.

Houston had 8 turnovers in their first 12 possessions, leading to a 0-20 hole in the opening frame. Russell Westbrook sat this game out for rest purposes.

All five Charlotte starters scored in double figures, with 3 of them finishing with at least 22. Terry Rozier, Devonte Graham, and PJ Washington had 24, 23, and 22 respectively for the Hornets, who improved to 22 wins and 41 losses for the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference team standings.

The slumping Rockets, who have now lost three straight, dropped to a 39-23 win-loss card to take the 5th spot in the Western Conference team standings.

Houston will try to end their skid, as they host the Orlando Magic on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Hornets will travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time).
