NBA Daily: Antetokounmpo Explodes for 41 to Lead Bucks Past Hornets 93-85

PhilBoxing.com

Boracay Island, Philippines – Giannis Antetokounmpo was unstoppable, as he scored the Bucks’ last 9 points to finish with 41 markers, to go along with 20 boards, 6 dimes, and 1 steal in Milwaukee’s 93-85 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The reigning MVP shot 17-for-28 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe to help extend Milwaukee’s winning streak to six. Brook Lopez added 16 points for the Bucks, who improved to 52 wins against only 8 losses for the league’s best record overall.

Everybody on the opposing squad contributed on the scoring department, with 5 of them collecting double figures led by Devonte Graham’s 17. However, the Hornets were helpless in trying to contain Antetokounmpo, who was having his way against anything that Charlotte defensively threw at him.

Terry Rozier and PJ Washington added 13 and 12, respectively for the Hornets, who dropped to a 21-39 win-loss card, which is only good for 10th place in the Eastern Conference team standings.

The Hornets will next host the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning, Philippine time).

Meanwhile, the Bucks will travel to Miami to face the Heat on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time).

How they scored:

Bucks 93 – Antetokounmpo 41, B. Lopez 16, Hill 11, Matthews 8, Connaughton 6, Bledsoe 4, Brown 3, DiVincenzo 2, R. Lopez 2

Hornets 85 – Graham 17, Rozier 13, Washington 12, Cody Martin 11, Hernangomez 10, Biyombo 8, Bridges 7, Caleb Martin 5, McDaniels 2
