TADURAN DEFENDS IBF TITLE AGAINST VALLADARES TODAY IN MEXICO
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sun, 02 Feb 2020

Filipino IBF World Champion Pedro Taduran weighed-in at 104.6 lbs., while his Mexican challenger Daniel "Cejitas" Valladares made 103.8 pounds ahead of their clash for the IBF Minimumweight World Title today in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, Mexico.
Both men looked in high spirits and top shape for the important battle promoted by Zanfer, set to be broadcast live in Mexico on TV Azteca 7 La Casa del Boxeo, and in Latin America on ESPN Knock Out.
For this world title rumble, the Mexican challenger Valladares has come down to the 105 lbs weight class from the 108 pound division. He has normally fought at 108 pounds or above, scoring telling wins for which has earned the IBF # 1 rank at 108.

Pedro Taduran flexes his muscles at yesterday's weighin.
But in order to challenge the Taduran, Valladares had reduce in weight to 105. The last time he was near 105 was five years ago.
Last September, Valladares was at 108 pounds when he stopped Filipino Christian Araneta; and in his last win eight weeks ago, Valladares was at 110 pounds. Today 103.8 lbs.
In contrast, Taduran is in his perfect combat weight
Will shedding those pounds affect the Mexican? That remains to be seen as local fans can't wait for the sound of the first bell.
May the Best Man Win.
Officials for the rumble are: supervisor Aaron Kizer of the USA. Referee in charge is Wes Welton of Phoenix, Arizona. IBF Judges are John Basile of New York, Ellis Johnson of Texas and California's Mr. J. Davis.
