Naoya Inoue vs Johnriel Casimero Likely for April in Las Vegas By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Thu, 23 Jan 2020 Boxing fans, keep your fingers crossed. Because it is very likely that undefeated WBA/IBF 118-pounder sensation "The Monster" Naoya Inoue (19-0, 16 KO's) and Filipino WBO world champion Johnriel Casimero (29-4, 20 KO's) will battle in exciting showdown in April in Las Vegas, USA. The possible thrilling event, as being reported in Boxingscene, would be one of the highlights in boxing for 2020, with both men on the top of their games. Naoya Inoue (井上尚弥), 26, defeated Nonito Donaire in the "2019 Fight of the Year" to claim the World Boxing Super Series tournament last November, while the Ormocano Johnriel "Quadro Alas" Casimero, 30, captured the WBO 118-pound strap by sensationally overpowering the solid Zolani Tete (28-4, 21 KO's) also last November. Inoue stops Rodriguez. Casimero stops Tete. The unification clash would be Naoya's starry debut battle with promotion company Top Rank, which inked the Japanese KO artist to a multi-fight promotional deal. Meanwhile, Casimero is promoted by Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions. The much-awaited fight's official presentation presscon could come up sometime in February, and the exciting event could be aired live on ESPN and its platforms. Of course, in boxing things could change. But so far the thrilling Inoue vs Casimero unification clash seems to be on the right track. So, boxing fans, keep your fingers crossed.
