NBA Daily: Lowry Sizzles in the Fourth, as Raptors Overcome 30-Point Deficit to Beat Mavericks 110-107 By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Tue, 24 Dec 2019 Pasay City, Philippines – Kyle Lowry flirted with a triple double, scoring game high 32 points, grabbing 8 boards, and dishing out 10 dimes to rally the Raptors from 30 points down and steal the victory from the Dallas Mavericks 110-107 on Sunday night (Monday morning, Philippine time) at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The defending champions scored a franchise record 47 fourth quarter points behind Lowry’s 20 markers during that stretch. Dallas only scored 21 team total on the final frame. The Mavericks were up 83-53 at the 2:55 mark of the third canto. Toronto then swarmed every Dallas ball possession, just as Lowry began to torch the hoops with sizzling shooting. The Raptors did all this, despite not having two starters Paskal Siakam and Marc Gasol, along with key reserve Norman Powell, due to injuries. Sophomore forward Chris Boucher helped the cause at both ends of the court, with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and 4 blocks off the bench. He was also effective in attacking the rim, fishing for fouls and hitting 9 of his 12 freethrows. Hollis-Jefferson added 18 markers for the Raptors, who improved to 21 wins and 8 losses for 4th place in the Eastern Conference team standings. Dallas had across-the-board production. Everybody scored, with all starters hitting double figures. Still, not having a steady playmaker with nerves of steel in Luka Doncic, who is still nursing an ankle injury, did it in for Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle’s wards. The Mavericks, who dropped to a 19-10 win-loss card, will try to erase the stigma of that painful loss, as they host their Texas rival San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time). Meanwhile, the Raptors will try to ride on the momentum, as they visit the Pacers in Indiana on Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time). How they scored: Raptors 110 – Lowry 32, Boucher 21, Hollis-Jefferson 18, VanVleet 10, Davis 9, McCaw 8, Ibaka 6, Anunoby 6 Maverricks 107 – Brunson 21, Prozingis 19, Powell 17, Hardaway Jr. 16, Finney-Smith 14, Kleber 7, Broekhoff 6, Wright 5, Marjanovic 1, Curry 1 AROUND THE LEAGUE: (Road Team – Home Team) DAL 107 – 110 TOR CHA 93 – 119 BOS IND 89 – 117 MIL LAC 112 – 118 OKC DEN 128 – 104 LAL GAMES TODAY, DECEMBER 24, 2019 CT WSH @ NYK 8:00 AM CT ATL @ CLE 8:00 AM CT PHI @ DET 8:00 AM CT CHI @ ORL 8:00 AM CT TOR @ IND 8:00 AM CT UTAH @ MIA 8:30 AM CT SAS @ MEM 9:00 AM CT DEN @ PHX 10:00 AM CT HOU @ SAC 11:00 AM CT NOP @ POR 11:00 AM CT MIN @ GSW 11:30 AM CT Comments are highly appreciated.
