Rogen Ladon faces Indonesia's Suguro Aldoms in today's bout.

After the Philippine women's team led by the five gold medals seeking Josie Gabuco anchored the charge in the country's campaign in the opening day of boxing events of the ongoing 30th Southeaat Asian Games at the PICC, it is now the turn of the men's squad.

The Fil British Marvin won the gold in the last Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 2017.

Opening today's drive is Rogen Ladon who has advanced by bye yesterday and will take on a very dangerous opponent in Indonesia's Suguro Aldoms, the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEAG light flyweight gold medalist in the quarter finals of the flyweight class.

Ladon was silver medalist in the 2015 Singapore Games as a light flyweight. He also won silver in the last Asian Games and represented in country in the Rio Olympics.

Light flyweight Carlo Paalam, the lone Pinoy who saw action in the opener bested his tough Laotian foe by unanimous decision to also advance to the next round.

Defending middleweight champion Felix Marcial and bantamweight Ian Clark Bautista have drawn bye yesterday and also advanced to the next round.

If these three Pinoy boxers with scheduled bouts today emerged victorious, the country will advance a total of ten bets to the next round with assurance of at least bronze medals.

Only welterweight Joel Bacho as well as women's featherweight Nesthy Petecio and lightweight Rita Pasuit have yet to see action.

Petecio the recent world women's championship gold medalist is seeking her first gold medal in the biennial meet after settling for silver in her previous two stints.
