NBA Daily: Green Posts Triple-Double as Warriors Outlast Pelicans 134-123 for First Win of the Season
By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Wed, 30 Oct 2019

Boracay Island, Philippines – Draymond Green showed why he’s in the conversation as one of the top big men of his generation, as he once again posted yet another superb triple-double performance of 16 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals to guide the Golden State Warriors to their first victory of the season, by outlasting the Pelicans 134-123 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Monday night (Tuesday morning, Philippine time).
Warriors’ backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell provided ample support for Green, as they chipped in 26 and 24 markers, respectively. The trio of Curry, Green, and Russell were also responsible for the combined 29 of their team’s 37 assists.
Third year guard Damion Lee also provided the needed spark off the bench, as he set career highs of 23 points and 11 boards for Golden State, who improved to 1-2 in the win-loss column.
The Pelicans, who are still winless in four outings, were without their three starters Jrue Holiday, Derrick Favors, and top overall pick Zion Williamson due to injuries. Brandon Ingram led New Orleans with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 dimes in 31 minutes of play.
The Warriors will next face the Phoenix Suns at home on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time).
Meanwhile, the Pelicans will host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night (Friday morning, Philippine time).
