India Boxing Update: Marine Pro Boxing Promotions Scores Knockout Event in Mumbai By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Wed, 09 Oct 2019  Afghanistan welterweight Mohammed Zekria Zamani (R) decisioned Amoxemi Gbenga of Nigeria in main event in Mumbai. India continues its exciting path into pro boxing, staging its latest fight card in Mumbai, the historic, awesome capital city of the State of Maharashtra, and the result was a total, thrilling success. Dashing, risk-taker Devraj Das -- a leading promoter in the land of Mahatma Gandi -- outdid himself again, producing its eight boxing event this year. Not a bad performance by any measurement. But Devraj Das wants even more. His company Marine Pro Boxing Promotion aims at steaming forward with even more boxing shows, all sanctioned by Professional Boxing Commission of India. The latest rumble has just unfolded, a nine pro bouts event that did not fail to entertain India boxing fans, craving for real fight action. In the hard-fought, international main event, undefeated 21-year-old Afghanistan welterweight Mohammed Zekria Zamani secured a unanimous decision win over tough-as-nails veteran Amoxemi Gbenga of Nigeria.  Afghanistan welterweight Mohammed Zekria Zamani scored win in the main event. It was a competitive blow-by-blow battle with both fighters at each other in the center of the ring trading hard with Zamani edging a well-deserved victory. The third man in the ring was Archit Shivdas. In one of the show's main attractions, flyweight Vimal Punera, 25, of Dehradun, Uttarakhand in Northern India, stopped younger three-time Indian national amateur champion Aman Dilawar of Haryana.  Vimal Punera (L) stopped 3-time Indian Champ Aman Dilawar. The duel came to an end when the retrieving Aman refused to continue battling for the action of second chapter. The result was a round two TKO win for Vimal Punera, a 112-pounder warrior ready for tougher challenges. In the second bout of the evening welterweight 22-year-old Neeraj (2-1, 2 KO's) of Chandawali blasted out young pro boxing debutant Lucky Sourav, 16, for a frame one TKO victory. In addition, unbeaten cruiserweight Vikrant Bhati, 22, ravaged Shivam Uday Gaikwad for an effective KO triumph in the first stanza. Plus, super welterweight Pardeep Kharera, 23, of Rewari in the Indian state of Haryana vaporized rookie Mohit to press his boxing career forward. What's more, 118-pounder Sandeep Kumar (4-1, 1 KO) of Gurugram stopped local Mumbai warrior Kedi Kailas Khot, 30, in less than three minutes for a fast 'n furious TKO win. Moreover, 154-pounder Kamal Kant Choudhary, 29, scored a close, hard-fought majority decision victory over tough 25-year-old Rahul Khochhar. Judges Sangeeta Pawase and Umesh Rajak scored 39-37 for Kamal, while judge Jayesh Chougale saw the melee a draw 38-38. Also, 200-pounders Vedant Agarwal, 30, and popular big-heart warrior Jitender Nandal, 25, battled it to a majority draw. Judge Umesh Rajak's scorecard was 39-37 for for the 30 year-old Vedant, overruled by judges Jayesh Chougale and Sangeeta Pawase who saw the four-rounder an even 38-38. Its unclear if there will be a rematch, or whether the boxers want to move forward with new opponents. Furthermore, 26-year-old super lightweight Suresh Kumar (2-0-2, 1 KO) and tough pro boxing debutant Baljit Singh battled it to a close and thrilling majority draw. Hundreds of fans enjoyed the exciting boxing show held at Mumbai's Marine Centre Boxing Academy. In attendance during the event were India's Professional Boxing Commission President Capt.
