JOSESITO LOPEZ STOPS JOHN MOLINA JR IN 8

LOS ANGELES -- In one of the feaatured undercards of the Errol Spence Jr vs Shawn Porter IBF/WBC world welterweight unification fight at the Staples Center here Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) two time world title challenger Josesito Lopez (37-8-0, 20KOs) of Riverside, California stopped John Molina Jr (30-9-0, 24KOs) of Covina, California in the 8th round of their 10 round scheduled welterweight contest. Lopez dropped Molina once each in rounds one and seven in route to a 8th round TKO victory when Referee Ray Corona waved off the fight to protect Molina from further punishment.
Lopez (R) touches Molina with a right in this bit of action during their 10-round scheduled welterweight fight Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
