LOS ANGELES -- Below are the early undercard results from the Errol Spence Jr vs Shawn Porter IBF/WBC welterweight unification fight at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles Saturday night (Sunday in Manila):
5th fight, 8 rounds Welterweight: Fabian Andres Maidana (17-1-0, 13KO) of Buenos Aires, Argentina stops Ramses Agaton (21-11-3, 11 KO) of Acapulco, Mexico in the first round. Agaton was down three times and the fight was waived according to California rules. Time: 2:07 of round one.
Rodriguez finishes Maddox.
6th fight, Misael Rodriguez (10-0-0, 5KO) of Chihuahua, Mexico stops Brandon Maddox (7-3-1, 5KO) of Detroit, Michigan. Time: 1:43 of the third round.
Lawson corners Zavala.
4th fight, 8 rounds Middleweight: Leon Lawson III (12-0-0, 5KO) of Flint, Michigan knocks out Alan Zavala (15-6-0, 13KO) of Tijuana, Mexico. Zavala down and counted out in roun.d two. Time: 2:27
Olvera (R) pressures Rashidi.
3rd fight, 8 rounds Welterweight: Alfonso Olvera (12-6-3,4KO) of Tucson, Arizona wins by UD over Amon Rashidi (7-1-0,5KO) of Dallas, Texas. Scores 79-73,79-73, 78-74.
Lopez (L) tags Garcia.
