Pride of Bohol: Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo Returns to Face Former World Champion Panya Uthok of Thailand By Reylan Loberternos PhilBoxing.com Tue, 27 Aug 2019  Tungod, Inabanga, Bohol ? Undefeated Boholano fighter Mark ?Magnifico? Magsayo (18-0-0, 14 KOs) will once again strut his stuff in front of his hometown fans, as he battles former world champion Panya Uthok (53-6-0, 35 KOs), otherwise known as Pungluang Sor Singyu Onesong, of Thailand for the vacant WBC Asia Featherweight and IBF Pan Pacific Featherweight titles. The regional championship bout will be held at the Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Saturday, August 31, 2019 under Vladimir Boxing Promotions. This is the first time in almost two years for Magsayo to have his bout held here in the Philippines after contractual issues with former promoter ALA Boxing Promotions prevented him from fighting on native soil. His last bout was held in Singapore earlier this year, earning a knockout victory over Erick Deztroyer in four rounds. The Thai ring veteran, on the other hand, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Pinoy journeyman Carlo Magali, who is also from Bohol. But Uthok may be best remembered by Pinoy fight fans as the boxer that knocked AJ ?Bazooka? Banal out in the 9th round of their WBO World Bantamweight Championship bout way back in 2012 to stun the hometown fans at the jam-packed SM Mall of Asia Arena. Also part of the boxing card is the Philippine Games & Amusement Board championship bout between Giovanni Escaner of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat and Renoel Pael of Matalom, Leyte.
