Plant crushes Lee to retain title

LAS VEGAS - Caleb Plant retained his International Boxing Federation (IBF) Super Middleweight title when he stopped challenger Mike Lee in three rounds of their scheduled 12 round championship bout.
Plant dominated his fellow undefeated foe from the start of the bout. Plant sent Lee to the canvas once in Round one and three times in Round 3 which prompted Referee Robert Byrd to call a halt to the one sided contest.
This was Plant?s first defense of his title which he won last January.
?It went exactly how I planned it would go. Absolutely. I?ve been telling you all week it wasn?t going to go 12 rounds and I stuck to my word and I tried to do that.? Plant boasted.
Plant expressed interest in a unification match with the winner of the Anthony Dirrell and David Benavidez World Boxing Council title fight which was announced for September 28 as the co-feature of Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter in Los Angeles.
