PhilBoxing.com

Thrilling boxing continues full steam forward in the beautiful and blessed sun-bathed paradise island of Bohol.

In the latest fighting attraction, Bohol's veteran promoters Edgar Lacierda Ricafort of Jimdomar Boxing and Naris Singwancha of Thailand teamed up to proudly present to fans "Engkwentro Sa Cogtong II," a competitive five-bout pro boxing show that unfolded Monday, May 27, at the Covered Court of Bohol's most welcoming town, Candijay, 90 Km east of Bohol's capital, Tagbilaran.

In the first bout of the evening, unbeaten 20-year-old Boholano Jimmybie Cais (3-0, 1 KO) outclassed Mindanao warrior Jerry Tabago (1-6, 0 KO's) of Koronadal City, Cobatato del Sur. The two gladiators roughed it up in their six-round battle in the minimum weight division with Cais coming on top for a unanimous decision win. The referee was Delbert Pelegrino of Bohol.

In the main feature, coming-forward big-heart brawler John Kenan Villaflor (8-5-4, 2 KO's) of Cebu City by way of Valle Hermoso, Negros Oriental, rumbles experienced veteran Crison "Cowboy" Omayao (24-19-5, 8 KO's), of Valencia, Bukidnon, fought to a split decision draw in their hot ten-chapter battle in the super flyweight division.

Judge Neil Papas of San Fernando, Cebu, scored 97-93 for Omayao. Judge Angelito Piquero scored 97-93 for Villaflor, while the third judge Angelito Boaquin voted for a 95-95, with boxers and fans wanting a rematch.

CO-MAIN: SASAN DEFEATS MANINGKIL AGAIN

In the co-main feature, promising minimumweight Roldan Sasan (8-1, 3 KO's) of Carmen in central Bohol dominated and outclassed for a second time tough Davae?o man of steel Dave Maningkil (5-10-2, 1 KO) during their in a scheduled 8-rounder melee.

The two men already battled it out hot in a thrilling non-stop 2017 war in Talibon, northern Bohol. In the climax of that first encounter, Roldan stopped Dave in the eighth and final round. This time around there was no knockout, though Sasan was clearly again the superior fighter.

Still, fans loved their big rumble, and Roldan and Dave might do it again.

MORE RESULTS FOR BOHOL'S "ENGKWENTRO SA COGTONG II"

In one of the hot undercards, Boholano super flyweight Anthony Galigao -- who hails from the flourishing and charming town of Batuan, the gateway to the world-famous Chocolate Hills -- unleashed a heavy storm of fire against fearless Belmar Plaza of Cebu City by way of Lanao del Norte, rocking Plaza out in four chapters.

After the stoppage win, Galigao (9-13- 4 KO's) feels ready for more exciting missions. The collision was a scheduled non-title eight-rounder fight in the 105-pound weight class, but it did not go the distance.

Moreover, dangerous featherweight Reymond Empic (6-3 2 KO's) of the beautiful coastal town of Dalaguete in southern Cebu viciously ravaged Negros Oriental warrior Romnick Magos (12-9, 7 KO's) for a crushing TKO in round three.
