Carlo Demecillo Faces Junrel Jimenez for the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Title This Wednesday at Robinson's Galleria By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Mon, 03 Jun 2019  CEBU CITY ? Big Yellow's Carlo Demecillo and former amateur standout Junrel Jimenez will dispute the WBO Asia-Pacific Youth Bantamweight Title this Wednesday, June 5, at the Robinson's Galleria here with the winner looking to crash into the world rankings. Demecillo (12-5-1, 6KOs), 23, is the current Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) bantamweight king who belong to the Demecillo boxing brothers that are perennial crowd favorites because of their come-forward never say die style of boxing. He last saw action at The Greenery in Mabolo on Feb. 23 where he dispatched Jeffrey Stella in four rounds. Last November at the IEC Convention Center, he extracted a majority draw against former two-time world title challenger Arthur Villanueva. He won his PBF belt against Margarito Moya in Bohol on May 23, 2018 stopping Moya in the second round. Jeminez (8-1-1, 5KOs) won gold medals in the Palarong Pambansa in 2011 and 2012 and at the Philippine National Games in 2013 and 2014. He also topped the Batang Pinoy and the ABAP competitions under the Cebu City team. He is managed by veteran man of boxing Lorenzo Sy. He drew his last fight against Elias Joaquino last April in Medellin, Cebu but stopped his last three opponents prior to that fight. Also seeing action on the undercard are: - Virgel Vitor (13-2-0, 7KOs) of Harada Boxing Stable vs Jeffrey Stella (4-7-3, 4KOs) of Mandaue City for 8 rounds bantamweight. Clyde Azarcon (14-2, 6KOs) of Big Yellow Boxing Gym vs Ernesto Alera (6-6) of Bacolod City for 8 rounds minimumweight Rhonvex Capuloy (5-1, 4KOs) of Big Yellow Boxing Gym vs Toushin Battulga (2-0-0, 2KO) of Japan/Rex Flores Gym for 8 rounds featherweight Elmer Naason (1-0-0, 1KO) of Big Yellow Boxing Gym vs Matthew Pondales of RWS Stable for 4 rounds super lightweight. The event is promoted by Big Yellow Boxing Promotions and sponsored by ConEquip Philippines, Old Meets New and Robinson's Galleria Cebu. The fights start at 6:00 p.m. and are free to the public.
