NBA -- Curry blows up for 40 against Cavs
By Jason Aniel PhilBoxing.com Sun, 07 Apr 2019
OAKLAND -- In the penultimate regular season home game for the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry scored 40 points, and the Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-114 at a jampacked Oracle Arena on Sunday.
Don?t let the score fool you, a late rally by the Cavs in the fourth quarter made the final score closer than it appeared. The Warriors were up as many as 21 points.
Kevin Durant added 15 points and eight assists, Draymond Green had a rare 20 point effort with eight rebounds, and Klay Thompson scored 11 points. Collin Sexton scored 27 points and Cedi Osman had 15 points for the Cavaliers.
This game was a far cry from the previous seasons when the Warriors and Cavs faced each other in four straight NBA Finals. The Warriors are only one more win or a Denver Nuggets loss to secure home court advantage throughout the entire Western Conference playoffs.
The Cavs, on the other hand, have lost seven straight games, and are in position to get a high pick in the upcoming NBA draft.
Next up for the Warriors is the Los Angeles Clippers in the last regular season home game at Oracle Arena. The Warriors will move to the Chase Center in San Francisco next season.
