PH chess wizard Jerome Adrian Aragones wins STACAA Chess Tournament on tie break

PH chess wizard Jerome Adrian Aragones of Bacoor City, Cavite, who became the Region IV-Calabarzon Champion after topping the Southern Tagalog Calabarzon Athletic Association (STACAA) Chess Tournament-Elementary Division held at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex, Santa Rosa City, Laguna last February 11 to 15, 2019.
Aragones and Eowyn Jullado of Tayabas, Quezon tied for first place at 3.5/4 points each but Aragones took the title on a superior tie-break score.
Enrolled at Graceland Academy Inc in Molino 4, Bacoor City, Jerome Adrian is the first Gracean and the first Bacoor City Resident to qualify for the Palarong Pambansa to be held in Davao City on April 27 to May 4, 2019. He bagged the invididual gold and the team gold with Gio Troy Ventura of Dasmarinas City, Cavite.
Ventura, a member of the star studded Dasmarinas Chess Academy of mayor Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr. placed fourth over-all with 3.0 points, the same output of third place Wayne Ruiz of Sta. Rosa City, Laguna and fifth place Zeus Alexis Paglinawan of Rizal Province.-Marlon Bernardino-
