NBA -- Warriors rout Spurs, 141-102
By Jason Aniel PhilBoxing.com Thu, 07 Feb 2019

OAKLAND --- The defending champion Golden State Warriors easily dispatched the visiting San Antonio Spurs, 141-102 on Wednesday night at the Oracle Arena.
The All Star trio of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson carried the brunt of Golden State's offense as they combined for 68 points in just the first three quarters. The Spurs were able to keep pace in the first half, but as the second half began, the Warriors put away the Spurs for good with a spectacular 49-point third quarter barrage.
DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors? starting center, added 15 points and 6 rebounds in just 17 minutes?10 of those points in the 3rd quarter.
The Spurs were without DeMar DeRozan and All Star, LaMarcus Aldridge, due to ?load management?. Patty Mills led the Spurs with 16 points, going 4-7 from 3-point land. Rudy Gay had 15 points and Davis Bertans added 12 points.
The Warriors are starting to round into playoff form as they head to the All-Star break. The Warriors coaching staff will not coach Team Lebron, as that honor was given to the Denver Nuggets coaching staff, who had slight lead in the standings when the coaching staffs were finalized last Saturday.
But head coach, Steve Kerr, and his staff won?t be sad missing the trip to Charlotte because they are looking forward to a nice five-day break. After losing their only game in 2019 one week ago against the 76ers, the Warriors have continued their hot play winning two straight games.
