PETALCORIN VS ALVARADO IBF TITLE FIGHT OCTOBER 29 AT THE SOLAIRE CASINO

The fight date for the vacant IBF world light flyweight title between former WBA interim world titleholder Randy Petalcorin and Nicaraguan Felix Alvarado has been moved to October 29, 2018.

The venue will be the Solaire Casino in Paranaque City, Metro Manila.

"Randy has been training hard at the Sanman gym. JC Mananquil and I have invested so much time and effort to get Petalcorin at this stage of his career to be fighting for a IBF World title after winning a WBA world title in 2014," said Australian boxing hall of famer Peter Maniatis.

Petalcorin (29-2-1, 22 KOs) won the WBA interim crown in 2014 in Shanghai, stopping Panamanian Walter Tello in seven rounds. After one title defense against China?s Ma Yi Ming, who was TKO?d in one round, he suffered a controversial loss in a WBC silver title bout in Australia to Omari Kimweri by split decision in 2016. He has since won six straight fights leading to this IBF title shot.

Alvarado (33-2, 29 KOs) has a fearsome KO record. His two losses were in world title fights to then WBA light flyweight champ Kazuto Ioka in Japan and in a WBA flyweight title fight to Juan Carlos Reveco in Argentina.

Maniatis also informed philboxing of the officials- IBF supervisor Ben Keilty (Australia), referee Ernie Sharif (USA), judges Ver Abainza (Philippines), Michael Alexander (England) and Alejandro Lopez (Mexico).
