Money, it?s all that matters now By Jojo Salvador PhilBoxing.com Sun, 21 Oct 2007 It has become obvious to me that what matter to boxing promoters GBP and Top Rank is just money, and nothing more than money, and not Manny! Golden Boy opted to choose Juarez to fight its WBC Super Featherweight World Champ Marquez instead of the ?other? WBC of the same weight class Pacquiao. On the other hand, Pacman?s uncle Bob Arum is trying to evade Pacquiao-Marquez II but instead has been trying to bring up some not so popular names such as Diaz, Valero and other not so known boxers against Manny. No one will beat Manny except maybe Marquez, and they both know that. And we know that too. Hmmmmmmm?. Well, MONEY is more of a priority than the real essence of the SPORT. I think that is what is going on. If Manny fights Marquez, what?s next? Who ever wins will be declared the real champ and who will be left to attract more money? Yes, Pacquiao-Marquez II will be a real money making match, but after that it will take sometime to develop a popular fight that would rake in lots of doe. As the saying goes, don?t shoot all your arrows until the enemies are all close knit and together. The Marquez-Juarez and the Pacquiao-? are just prelims buying time to increase demand especially when Marquez makes it again against Juarez and Pacquiao defeats the ?. Marquez will make it and Pacquiao will too. In the end, it?s still going to be Pacquiao-Marquez II. This time, new and young fighters will already have emerged to replace the excitement of Manny and the others who have made names for themselves at the expense of the PACMAN. I guess both have already agreed on this. In the main time, we?ll just have to wait. Well, money is it, not Manny. Oh, I almost forgot. De la Hoya and Arum are not really boxers but are actually businessmen. Ah, that is why. If I were them, I think I would also do what they?re doing. Smart move huh?
