SINGH DOMINATES AMUZU, RETAINS WBO REGIONAL TITLES
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Sun, 24 Dec 2017

JAIPUR, INDIA - Vijender Singh punched a ten round shutout against his challenger Ernest Amuzu of Ghana in front of his passionate Indian fans at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium.
He may not have scored the knockout everyone here craved for but this did not diminish the noise level inside the arena. The adversaries started tentatively, using feints and jabs. But as the rounds progressed, Singh repeatedly landed solid shots with his right hand.
Amuzu lived up to his billing as someone who has never been knocked out. Even when Singh mixed his offense with body shots, Amuzu was game and resilient until the final bell.
Judges Han Hongxiang (China), Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov (Kazakhstan) and Mekin Sumon (Thailand) all scored it 100-90. The referee was Surat Soikrachang of Thailand. Supervising for the WBO was Danny Leigh from Australia.
Singh retains the WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental belts. He is now 10-0,7KO?s while Amuzu is 23-3,21KO?s. Singh is ranked by the WBO at number six in the 168lb division ruled by Gilberto Ramirez of Mexico.
For the undercard results - Pardeep Kharera beat Nikhil Sharma by unanimous decision.
Dharmender Grewal won by TKO in the second round against Harsh Nagar, who had bleeding from the nose and due to a legal punch and told the ring doctors he had trouble breathing. Time ? 1:45.
Kuldeep Dhanda got a unanimous verdict against Fateh Singh, Asad Asif Khan and Sunil Siwach fought to a majority draw, Amandeep Singh won by majority decision against Manoj Kumar and Kuldeep Singh used body punches to stop Amrinder Singh in the second. Time ? 2:40.
The fight card billed as RAJASTHAN RUMBLE was officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) International led by PBC Executive Secretary Maggie Wei Na from China.
