RESULTS FROM THE BATTLE AT GUANGZHOU

GUANGZHOU, CHINA – ? Kurtis Pegoraro of Australia boxed a shutout against Eugen Buchmueller of Germany in the main bout of an international fight card held at the Guangzhou Asian Games gymnasium Sunday.

Pegoraro used his height and reach advantage and better lateral movement to use his jab to set up his body and head combos . Buchmueller pressed forward but kept getting tagged all night.

The judges scores were 100-90 for Surat Soikrachang and Meki Sumon of Thailand while Mark Leong (Macao) had it 99-91. The referee was Atty. Danrex Tapdasan of the Philippines

Pegoraro wins the WBC Asia Boxing Council continental heavyweight title as well as the WBO China Zone title. Pegoraro goes up to 11-3,1KO, Buchmueller suffers his first loss in 10 bouts.

Wang Zhiming wins WBC ABCO belt over Anthony Sabalde.

In the main supporting bout, Wang Zhiming of China beat Anthony Sabalde of the Philippines by unanimous verdict to win the the WBC ABCO lightweight title. They traded well placed punches in a tense tactical battle in the early rounds but Wang pled up the points as the fight progressed mainly due to his better accuracy.

The scores – 100-90 from Wu Dipen (China) and Melissa Wong (Macao) while Danrex Tapdasan (Phils) had it 98-92.

Sabalde drops to 12-7, 7KO’s while Wang is now 10W-2L, 3KO’s.


Wang Jainzheng wins WBO China National cruiser title.

Wang Jianzheng of China stopped Suthat Kalalek of Thailand to win the WBO China National cruiserweight title. Kalalek was knocked down in round four and was bleeding from the nose. His corner eventually decided not to let their fighter enter the sixth round.

For the rest of the undercards – Chaeloemporn Sawatsuk (Thailand) knocked out Talifeng Haoken (China) with a hard shot to the solar plexus in round three. Time 2:08. Cheong Lap Cheong of Macau beat Shuchang Liu of China by TKO in the fourth. Time 1:45.

The fights were officiated by the Professional Boxing Commission (PBC) of China. Supervising for the WBO was Abraham Mitra from the Philippines while Damrong Simakajornboon of Thailand will be represented the WBC. The card was promoted by Jiashu Chen.
