DENOY TO DEFEND WBO ASIA-PACIFIC TITLE OCT. 20

ALA Boy Along Denoy will defend his WBO Asia Pacific junior flyweight title for the first time on October 20 in a grudge rematch with erstwhile champ Kaichon Sor Vorapin in Thailand.
WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo, in an interview in Las Vegas recently, revealed that Denoy will give Kaichon a chance to redeem himself after the beating he administered on the Thai fighter when they first met.
Denoy had dethroned Vorapin last July 13, knocking down the Thai fighter four times en route to a fifth-round technical knockout win.
Panoncillo, however, clarified that he still has to wait for the medical clearances of Vorapin before he can be greenlighted to face Denoy again.
"We just want to make sure all fighters that fight in a WBO-sanctioned card in Asia are all healthy and fit to fight," stressed Panoncillo.
Denoy is currently undergoing extensive training at the ALA gym in preparation for his title defense.
