Alvarez was throwing bombs, Chavez was spewing empty shells. The mega bout was dead the moment Chavez?s nose got smashed and bloodied in the second round. It?s odd, but what would come next was this question on whether Alvarez could inflict the same harm and humiliation on the great Gennady Golovkin, unbeaten unified world middleweight boxing champion. There were actually other names being mentioned as next foe for Alvarez, ahead of the Chavez Junior demolition. ** But didn?t Alvarez finally agree to box Golovkin because he could no longer stand being incessantly called a coward? ?I have no fear,? Alvarez exuded during the on-stage victory ceremony. Alvarez, the Pride of Mexico, would need more than raw grit and courage, if he hopes to be wholly competitive against Golovkin come Sept. 16.
