CHICAGO -- After being held to a career playoffs low of four points in Game 1, Kyle Lowry roared back to life in Game 2 on Tuesday night, leading the Toronto Raptors to a hard-fought 1006-100 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at the Canada Centre.
Lowry finished with 22 points and 5 assists. He sank 6 of 12 field goals, including a 20-foot jumper that put the contest beyond reach for the Raptors, 1004-100 with eight seconds to go.
"I've been in the trenches with him before and he's always bounced back. That's just who he is. He's a competitor, he' a fighter," a relieved Raptors head coach Dwane Casey told the Associated Press after his team tied the best of 7 series at 1-1.
While Lowry was stellar all night, he got plenty of help.
DeMar DeRozan had 23 points and 7 boards, Serge Ibaka had 16 points and six dimes while big man Jonas Valanciunas added 10 markers and 10 rebounds as the Raptors shot 48.1 percent from the field (37-of-77) and 48.3 percent from 3-point range (14-of-29).
Four Bucks scored in double figures with Giannis Antetokounmpo leading with the way with 24 points to go along with 15 rebounds and 7 assists, Khris Middleton swished 20 and Greg Monroe had 18. Tony Snell, a former Chicago Bull, drained four triples to finish with 14.
Game 3 is Thursday night (Friday AM in Manila) at the BMO Harris Bradley cEnter in downtown Milwaukee. (HDS)
