LEAGUE OF FISTS 3: SU CHENG OUTGUNS POR NOBNOM

PhilBoxing.com

SHANGHAI, CHINA ? Su Cheng of Dalian, China sent Thai Petchbodin Por Nobnom down twice on the way to a lopsided unanimous verdict in the main bout of the second fight card held this weekend at One Show Space in Shanghai.

The two southpaws immediately established the pattern of the fight, with Su doing the stalking and Por Nobnom utilizing the entire ring to avoid Su?s power.

Su had difficulty landing more than two punches at a time until near the end fourth round when a volley of hard hooks decked the Thailander down hard.

But Por Nobnom beat the count and the bell sounded as Su prepared to finish him off. In the fifth, a whistling left cross sent Por Nobnom down for the second time. But he shook it off and even managed to stage a last desperate stand in the sixth round. But it was too little, too late.

The scores ? Yin Haiyang ? 59-53, Tao Zhuwu and Yang Hong ? 60-52.

Su is now 10W-1L-1D, 5KO?s. He lost a majority decision to Luo Qiang in the semis of the junior middleweight division of the first season of the League of Fists boxing tournament. He has since rebounded with two unanimous decision wins against He Zhang and Filipino Nelson Gulpe.

Por Nobnum is a former PABA lightweight champ but has not fought in more than four years. He drops to 9W-2L,6KO?s.

For the four round undercards:
The lone female boxing match of the night saw Yu Yahong win by unanimous decision over Liu Ke. All three judges had it 40-36. This is Yu?s fourth win without a loss.

Cruiserweights Muhetaer Maihemuti and Sun Yongcheng battled to a majority draw, Nuer Muhanmode beat Azamat Kairat of Kazakhstan by unanimous decision in their middleweight bout, Liu Heng got a majority decision against Zhu Yuancai in their flyweight match, featherweight Xu Da earned a majority decision against Li Yuzhe, Wuyunbilige won by unanimous decision over Liu Xuelong in their lightweight fight.

The League of Fists is a professional boxing tournament and an ongoing search for boxing talent in mainland China. It is currently in its third season and promoted by SECA and TOP RANK. The fights were officiated by Professional Boxing Commission of China. The first season winners were crowned as WBO Greater China champions.
