THE NEW PACQUIAO MOUTHGUARD - SIMPLE YET SYMBOLIC
By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sun, 23 Oct 2016

Mouthguards we make for Manny Pacquiao, the 8 divisions World Boxing champion, were always colorful, decorative and even funky. In fact, the one he used for the Mayweather fight was the funkiest ever. It was a mixture of the colors of the different flags from the countries of his worldwide supporters. For the record however, it did not cost an arm and a leg like the one Mayweather touted he would use but never did for the fight. Reportedly, that one that was lined by a $100 bill, diamond dust and gold flakes and cost $25K.
The new mouthguard we custom fabricated for Pacquiao to use for the Vargas fight is totally different in the way colors were used. The design is simple yet elegant and fitting for the man he is. But, it is still bears the same ultra-protective, highly functional, and great fitting qualities of every mouthguard we made for him.
Pacquiao is now a Philippine Senator, a position only few in the past ever attained.
It is honorable and needless to say, respectable.
Therefore following that logic, we designed a very simple tri-color mouthguard for the Senator. The new mouthguard is a very low key but it depicts the color of the flag of the Philippines, the country Senator Pacquiao proudly represents.
But it has one distinct feature - the logo of the Philippine Senate.
That is the only mouthguard design the humble Senator should use because it says it all ? the honorable position he holds and the very humble demeanor he has always been known to have.
The Senator arrives in Los Angeles tonight (Saturday LA Time) to continue his training leading to the Vargas fight in about two weeks. Over the week-end, we will present and fit his new mouthguard.
