?CHOCOLATITO? ? CUADRAS SEVEN DAY COUNTDOWN TO ONE HELLUVA FIGHT PASSES WITHOUT A HINT OF TROUBLE
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Tue, 06 Sep 2016

The seven day countdown to what the World Boxing Council described as ?one helluva fight? between WBC super flyweight champion, Carlos Caudras and number one contender, Roman "Chocolatito? Gonzalez, who incidentally just happens to be the WBC flyweight champion, passed, so did their weigh in, ?without the hint of a storm cloud on the horizon.?
The WBC pre-weighins have the specific intention of ?monitoring boxers` safe, gradual and sensible weight loss in order to protect them from dehydration and other consequences.?
Cuadras is staking his belt this coming Saturday at the Inglewood Forum of Los Angeles, California, against unbeaten Pound for Pound No. 1 Gonzalez who has moved up in weight to challenge the Mexican 115 pound champion.
Cuadras (35-0-1, 27 KOs) tipped the scales at 120.2 pounds, while Roman (45-0, 38 KOs) was a little lighter at 117.9.
Several other fighters have indicated interest in also moving up in weight to challenge ?Chocolatito? including the longest reigning Filipino world champion Donnie Nietes who has moved up to challenge former world champion Edgar Sosa in a flyweight bout at the StubHub Center in Carson City, California on September 24 and IBF flyweight champion Johnreil Casimero who defends his crown against unbeaten 23 year old Northern Ireland boxer Charlie Edwards who has expressed confidence in upsetting the odds despite it being only his 9th fight.
