FROILAN SALUDAR EYES CAREER TURNAROUND IN JAPAN By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Thu, 11 Aug 2016 ![]() Froilan ?The Sniper? Saludar (23W-1L-1D, 14KO?s) will try to punch his way back up the world rankings when he battles Takuma Inoue (7W-0L,2KO?s) of Japan on September 4 at the Sky Arena in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan. The 27 year old Saludar?s only career loss was at the hands of McWilliams Arroyo of Puerto Rico two years ago. Saludar was stopped in the second round with an IBF flyweight world title shot at stake. Arroyo would go on to lose to then IBF flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand by split decision. Takuma Inoue is ranked number eleven in the super flyweight division in the July 2016 world rankings of the WBO. He is the younger brother of WBO super flyweight world champ Naoya Inoue. A win by Saludar could very well lead to a title shot against the power punching older brother who has a record of 10-0,8KO?s and already has captured two world titles. The 20 year old Takuma beat Mark Anthony Geraldo, a once promising Filipino contender, by unanimous decision for the vacant OPBF super flyweight title last year. In his second pro fight, he got the better of the more experienced Thai Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (Teerapong Uthaida), also by unanimous verdict. Since the loss to Arroyo, Saludar has racked up four straight wins, including acquiring the vacant WBO Intercontinental flyweight belt in Haikou, China against Elias Nggenggo of Indonesia last year. In the same card, Naoya Inoue will defend his WBO world title against Thai Karoon Jarupianlerd a.k.a. Petchbarngborn Kokietgym.
