Ward Beats Brand in Tune-Up Fight

Oakland, CA?Former Super-Middleweight Champion, Andre Ward, raised his perfect record to 30-0 (15 KO?s) after his shutout victory over Alexander Brand, now 25-1 (19 KO?s). Ward fought a methodical fight for the first couple of rounds, but really turned up the pressure in the middle of the fight. Ward outclassed his opponent from the middle of the fight and tried to finish Brand, but the veteran, Brand, was able to survive the full 12 rounds. All three judges scored the fight the same 120-108. Ward, an Oakland native, sent his fans home very pleased after the victory.
With Ward?s win, all systems seem to a go for a November 19, 2016, showdown with Light-Heavyweight Champion, Sergery Kovalev, 30-0-1 (26 KO?s). Kovalev just came off a victory last month in his tune-up fight. Many expect a Ward vs. Kovalev fight as a fight to determine the best boxer pound for pound in the world.
