PhilBoxing.com

URUMQI, XINJIANG, CHINA ? Alimu Wushouer and Alimu Tuerson came up with contrasting wins in their League of Fists final bouts in front of a very animated hometown crowd at the Er Gong Arena.

Alimu Wushoer and Yang Xiaolong battled toe to toe for eight rounds to decide who will be crowned the WBO Greater China champion of the lightweight division in the first season of the League of Fists tournament.

They took turns pounding each other and even if Alimu had the edge in power and accuracy, Yang never backed down. Alimu also had the better defense which made him evade Yang?s counters when he needed to. The fourth round was the best of the fight when they traded bombs at a torrid pace. Both refused to wilt inside the oven hot arena until the final bell. Scores ? Salven Lagumbay ? 80-72, Mekin Sumon ? 78-74, Sungworn Klungboonkrung ? 79-73.

The super welterweight finals between Alimu Tuerson and Luo Qiang was a tense chess match. Both stated tentatively preferring to jab and box from a distance and score by sneaking in one punch at a time. Tuerson had his best round in the fifth when he finally put his combinations together to the body and head. Luo continued to be aggressive but neither boxer dominated the other. It was a close one with judges Edward Ligas, Mekin Sumon and Surat Soikrachang all scoring 77-75 for Tuerson.

Maimaituerson Qiong knocked down Panarin Maxim of Kasakhtan down in round one and won by TKO after Maxim decided not to answer the bell for the fourth round in their super welterweight contest.

Cruiserweight Zaifula Maimaiti knocked out Prakob Chaiman of Thailand in the opening round with hard head and body shots. Referee Danrex Tapdasan reached the ten count at the 1:35 mark.

Aizi Aili got a hard fought majority decision win over Nopphorn Phosa of Thailand in their six round junior welterweight contest. Scores ? Huang Zhiqiang and Yuan Yunzi 58-56, Salven Lagumbay 57-57.

Tuohetiqiong Moala beat Madanbekov Omarbek of Kasakhtan by unanimous decision after four rounds in their super middleweight bout. Scores ? Edward Ligas and Le Yiwen ? 40-35, Yin Haiyang ? 39-36. Omarbek was down in round two.
