ALBERT PAGARA CALLS FOR SUPPORT IN JUAREZ FIGHT By Maloney L. Samaco PhilBoxing.com Sat, 18 Jun 2016 ![]() Prince Albert Pagara will face the biggest challenge of his unblemished professional career when he clash with dangerous Cesar Juarez of Mexico. "I pray for guidance to God that He will give me the courage and strength in my fight and spare me from injuries," said the Maasin, So. Leyte-born boxer in a mobile message to this writer. "To all my Filipino kababayans, hope that you will pray for my success in my upcoming fight on July 9." Pagara thanked those who are idolizing him and promised to give his all in the bout of his life. "I will give my very best for this fight and show as much as I can my ability atop the ring to neutralize and defeat the Mexican." The WBO and IBF intercontinental champion realized how hard Juarez's punches are. "I will not be complacent against my risky opponent. And strive not to fail my countrymen." Juarez has 17 wins and 13 of these by KO. He lost 5 times though the last two to Nonito Donaire, Jr. by unanimous decision and to another Mexican Giovanni Delgado by split decision. Juarez also lost to Edgar Lozano by DQ, to Jorge Lara by PTS and to Hugo Partida by majority decision, all his compatriots. Partida was the same boxer whom Pagara demolished in one round. Juarez was dominated by Donaire in the first half of their 12-rounder. The Mexican went down twice in the fourth round. But Juarez breathed a new lease of life and inflected The Filipino Flash with a bruised and swollen left eye. Pagara trains at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles but is scheduled to leave for San Francisco earlier on June 19 to acclimatize with the cold weather. Elder brother Jason arrived in L.A. to join his camp at the Wild Card. He is slated to fight in Albert's undercard at the San Mateo Events Center.
