NBA PLAYOFFS -- Curry's explosion knots West Finals series at 1-1
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Fri, 20 May 2016

CHICAGO -- After a ho-hum Game 1 where he missed 13 of 22 shots and flubbed 8 of 14 triples, Steph Curry bounced back big and looked a lot like the NBA's back-to-back MVP with a spectacular effort that tied the Western Conference Finals at 1-1.
Curry drilled 9 of 15 shots, including 5-of-8 3s, to finish with 28 points and lead the Golden State Warriors to a 118-91 Game 2 demolition of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night at the sold-out Oracle Arena in downtown Oakland, California.
The victory saved the Warriors from a perilous 0-2 hole after the Thunder stole Game 1 on Monday night, 108-102. Game 3 of this best-of-7 brawl shifts to Oklahoma City on Sunday night (Monday AM in Manila).
Curry played only for 29 minutes and 40 seconds but his explosion in the third quarter, where he scored 17 propelled the Warriors to seize control 88-68 entering the fourth quarter.
"Business as usual. This is what he does," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told NBA.com.
Klay Thompson finished with 15 points, Andre Iguodala added 14 off the bench and Festis Ezeli and Draymond Green combined for 22 points and 13 rebounds for Golden State, which hasn't lost back-to-back game all season long en route to a historic 73-9 regular season romp.
After a cold Game 1, the Warriors made 43 of 85 field goals in Game 2 (50.6 percent). They also shot 13 of 28 triples and hod the Thunder to just 19 free throws, 13 less than their Game 1 tries.
Kevin Durant paced Oklahoma with 29 points, but he was held to 6 in the second half and he committed 8 turnovers. "They were sending three guys. I was trying to make the right pass. Maybe I've just got to shoot over three people," Durant said of the Warriors' attempt to contain him.
Russell Westbrook, who had 27 points in Game 1, tallied just 16 in Game 2.
