GONZALES, CONCEPCION, HEADLINE PASIG BOXING TODAY

PhilBoxing.com

Gonzales.

Roberto Gonzales and Bernabe Concepcion return to action where they are pitted against separate opponents to co-headline today?s boxing event at the Ynares Arena, Pasig City.

Gonzales of the Touch Gloves Boxing Gym will be fighting Arjan Canillas of the ALA Boxing Stable for the vacant RP (GAB) lightweight title. Gonzales (26-2-0), who bears the moniker ?Calibre? is on a 6-fight winning streak and is hoping to put his career back on track which was derailed when he lost to Ryan Sermona in May 2012 in their IBF Pan Pacific Youth Featherweight title fight. His opponent, the 22-year old Canillas (13-0-2) is undefeated and will be fighting for a title for the first time in his professional boxing career.

The twice world title challenger Bernabe ?Real Deal? Concepcion (34-6-2) on the other hand will defend his WBO Oriental super-bantamweight title against Jimmy Paypa (17-3-1) of the ALA Boxing Stable. Concepcion, who is undefeated since his lost to Mikey Garcia in March 2012 for the NABO and NABF featherweight titles in the most recent significant bout of his career, is on paper, the favourite in this bout. Paypa is not to be taken lightly, however, as his resume indicates having beaten the likes of Marvin Tampus and Eric Barcelona. With the advantage of youth on his side, he is capable of pulling off an upset.

Today?s boxing event also features the following bouts:

Oliver Gregorio (Touch Gloves) ? JC Francisco (Hardstone), 106 lbs., 10 rounds;
Carlos Caesar Penalosa (Penalosa) ? Roga Libres (Saguisa), 110 lbs., 6 rounds;
Ryan James Racasa (Alliance) ? Richard Morales (Elorde), 132 lbs., 6 rounds;
Bryan Macamay (Elorde) ? Gilbert Donasales, 135 lbs., 6 rounds;
Roman Canto (Team Insider) ? Junjie Lauza, 126 lbs., 6 rounds;
Jeric Potaso (Touch Gloves) ? Rex Lagane, 118 lbs., 4 rounds;
Darren Collamar (Kambal Kamao) ? Emmanuel Villanueva, 108 lbs., 4 rounds;
Ronald Alapormina (Brusmick) ? Jay-ar Lacsina (Sanchez), 106 lbs., 4 rounds; and
Jimboy Rosales (Kambal Kamao) ? Marjun Tarazona, 126 lbs., 4 rounds.

The event is being promoted by Elmer Anuran of the Saved by the Bell Boxing Promotions who is also the manger of Touch Gloves Boxing Stable. Art Monis is the matchmaker of the bouts.
