NBA -- Spurs handle Bulls, improve to 55-10
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Sat, 12 Mar 2016

CHICAGO -- It was business as usual for the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night as the Western Conference powerhouse remained unbeaten on their home floor following a 109-101 victory over the visiting Chicago Bulls.
Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs' balanced attack with 29 points and 7 rebounds while LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 and 10 boards. Tony Parker added 20 points and 12 assists and the Spurs improved to 31-0 at the AT&T Center. Dating back to last season, the Spurs have won 40 in a row in their building.
"It's a record yes, but it doesn't mean anything if we don't get all the way," Parker told NBA.com.
NBA finalists in two of the last three years, the Spurs, who have won 5 titles since 1999, are trying to make another run at the Larry O'Brien trophy. With a 55-10 record, San Antonio is currently ranked second in the overall standings, a close three games behind the 57-6 Golden State Warriors.
At 32-31, meanwhile, fell to 9th place in the Eastern Conference and fell out of the playoffs picture. The Bulls trail the 33-31 Detroit Pistons who are clinging to the 8th spot.
Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol each had 21 points for Chicago and E'Twaun Moore contributed 20 on 4-for-5 shooting from long distance. But the Bulls stumbled with 20 turnovers and shot just 45.3 percent from the field compared to San Antonio's 47.3 percent. (HDS)
