NBA -- "Greek Freak" powers Bucks past Lakers, 108-101
By Nick Osen PhilBoxing.com Wed, 24 Feb 2016
MILWAUKEE - Giannis "The Greek Freak" Antetokounmpo stole the spectacle of Kobe Bryant's final game in Milwaukee by leading the Bucks to a 108-101 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers before a sold-out crowd of 18,717 on Tuesday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Antetokounmpo finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists while Khris Middleton chipped in 18 as seven Milwaukee players finished with double figures in points.
Nick Young led the Lakers with 19 points while Kobe and young guard Jordan Clarkson contributed 15 apiece.
The Bucks got off to a pretty fast start, thanks to some monstrous dunks from Giannis and Miles Plumlee, but the Lakers cut the lead to two off of back-to-back-to-back 3s by Clarkson in the second quarter.
Kobe had a vintage step back 3 in the quarter that made the crowd go insane, but Giannis and Plumlee dominated to help the Bucks take 54-48 advantage at the break.
Milwaukee exploded in the third quarter and extended its lead to 25. The Lakers bench outscored the Bucks 36-18 in the final quarter, but the home team held on to win.
Kobe sat out the whole fourth quarter, but did receive a nice ovation before and after the contest, as well as a video tribute.
Milwaukee will try to carry their momentum to Boston Thursday night as they take on the surging Celtics, while Kobe and
the Lakers visit the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday night.
