NBA -- Nuggets hold off Warriors, 112-110
By Jason Aniel PhilBoxing.com Fri, 15 Jan 2016

DENVER-- The Golden State Warriors felt the absence of power forward Draymond Green, who sat out for the first time this season with an ankle injury.
Without the versatile Green, the Warriors found themselves in the losing end of a game for only the third time this season, falling to the Denver Nuggets, 112-110, on Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center.
Reigning league MVP Stephen Curry carried the Warriors with 38 points, drilling 5-of-8 triples and 13-of-24 field goals. But the prolific play maker also had eight turnovers, including one in the final 7.8 seconds that sealed Golden State's fate.
"Got stuck between looking for the open man and handling the ball, and one little mishandle and Gallinari got it," Curry told NBA.com after the Warriors fell to 36-3.
Harrison Barnes contributed 18 points off the bench for Golden State while Klay Tompson added 17. Andrew Bogut finished with a season-high 15 points for the Warriors.
Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 28 points. His steal off Curry in the final seconds helped secure the Nuggets' victory, improving the team record to 15-24.
Denver?s bench was key as Darrell Arthur scored 18 points and Wil Barton had 21 points.
With 2.8 seconds remaining and the Warriors down by 2, Klay Thompson heaved a potential game-winning 3 for the win, but the attempt fell short.
