NBA -- Bulls hold off Magic's late surge By Kelly Manalo PhilBoxing.com Tue, 03 Nov 2015 ![]() CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls held off a late surge by the Orlando Magic, 92-87, on Sunday night at the United Center. Chicago was in control throughout the game until the fourth quarter when the Magic outscored the Bulls 24 to 17. The Magic cut the lead to 1 point with about 3 minutes left, but Bulls guard Jimmy Butler came up with a leaping steal at half court to stop Orlando?s momentum. The overall game looked sloppy as both teams combined for 29 turnovers. Both teams did not shoot well from the field. The Bulls were at 38 percent while Orlando was at 39 percent for the game. Chicago was led by Nikolai Mirotic and Pau Gasol who both scored 16 points. Jimmy Butler added a solid all-around game with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocked shots. The Magic were led by guard Evan Fournier who led all scores with 19 points. ?We were just lethargic on both ends. Most of the game we just weren?t here tonight,? said head coach Scott Skiles of the the Orlando Magic. Former MVP Derrick Rose who is still suffering with an eye injury only scored 6 points but helped contribute to the victory in other ways. He was able to set his teammates up dropping 8 assists and grab 7 rebounds. Rose said after the game about his blurry vision and his contributions to the team. ?There is no point in shooting the ball if I can?t see. As long as we are winning games I couldn?t care less about anything else, about my eye or anything.? Chicago is now 3 and 1 to start the season and will play Charlotte next on Tuesday night. Orlando is still winless as their record drops to 0 and 4. They travel to New Orleans to face the Pelicans next.
