SHAFIKOV TKO MUKHLIS IN 3

MACAU ? In the main undercard of the Ik Yang vs Cesar Cuenca IBF title bout, Denis Shafikov of Russia who now calls Los Angeles home, won by 3rd round TKO over Roy Mukhlis of Indonesia in their 10-round scheduled super featherweight bout at the CotaiArena here.
Mukhlis was the busier fighter throwing a lot of punches to the coming forward Shafikov who evidently had more power in his hands making an entertaining fight while it lasted. A left to the head by Shafikov sent Mukhlis to the canvas in the 2nd round. In the 3rd, Shafikov put in more pressure and caught Mukhlis with a flurry of punches towards the ropes. Mukhlis apparently wanted nothing more of the punishment as he turned his back on Shafikov waving his hand in surrender as the surprised referee was forced to stop the contest.
Shafikov improved to 36-1-1, 19KO while Mukhlis dropped to 18-4-2, 12KO.
